| Truck 24 responded to a reported house fire along Mount Pleasant Road in Hempfield Township, providing assistance to Hempfield Fire Department No. 2.
Truck 24 arrived shortly after the first responding unit, Greensburg Engine 7.
Upon arrival, the Engine 7 crew advanced the first hose line into the structure to begin fire suppression. The Truck 24 crew assisted by gaining access through the front porch and opening the main entrance to allow firefighters to safely advance the hose line inside.
Truck 24 personnel also performed ventilation by opening windows to help remove heat and smoke from the structure. Firefighters then entered the home to conduct a primary search to ensure no occupants were inside. Crews continued operations by checking walls and ceilings for any hidden fire and assisting with overhaul to fully extinguish remaining hot spots.
Truck 24 remained on scene supporting overhaul operations until being released by command. |
